PROGRAMS

For those of you wanting to participate as a “location site” for Books for Growing Minds Storybooks Alive! Five-week Summer Program, here’s how it works.

“Location Sites” are where the Books for Growing Minds Storybooks Alive! presentations have been approved by the person holding the position of authority designated to give consent to access and present at the chosen location (i.e., Executive Directors, Board member, Program Director, etc.) over the Five-Week summer programming.

Starting on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the presentations will run on Thursdays and Fridays. Each Location Site will be abled to schedule a “forty-five minutes” program  from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  for either Thursdays or Fridays. The Five-week Summer Program will end on Friday, August 1, 2024.  (No programs will be scheduled for July 4 and 5.)

Our Five-week Summer Program is cost-free for community groups and city and state-run agencies providing social services and shelter for children and family, women, teens, and the chronically homeless (e.g., Covenant House, Salvation Army, Greenbriar Children’s Center). Programs at these venues mentions are only for the Location Site’s residents, constituency, and their family and invited guests.

The general public will have an opportunity to experience Books for Growing Minds Storybooks Alive! at public venues advertising the program and inviting the public to attend.

Summer Day Camps, schools, and organizations offering Summer Vacation (Summer Camp) activities for children and youth at a cost to their enrollees, Books for Growing Minds Storybooks Alive! will be available at a low-cost, Honorarium/Performance Fee. Please email us for details and to set up a phone call to discuss arrangements.

Programs will be booked “first-come-first-served” and a waiting list will be established should a scheduled venue decide in time to cancel.

After the Five-week Summer Program, we WILL be bringing Books for Growing Minds Storybooks Alive! into schools.

To our community partners, organizations, social groups, sororities, fraternities, and individuals who advocate on behalf of the aforementioned organizations and agencies, your assistance is invited to help us make these connections and get your groups and committees involved along the way.
